This unique and evidenced based peer-to-peer model provides interventions to help individuals be in charge of their own health to prevent and manage chronic diseases in coal-impacted communities. Volunteers invite their friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to join a routine of being physically active. This social support system is delivered in person and virtually.

AETNA

AETNA offers plans including Medicare, Medicaid, Student Health Plans, and International Plans. Starting on January 1st, Adult Dental Benefits are being offered for Medicaid plans. Those 21 and older can receive 3-month cleanings, cavity repair, and restorative care up to $1,000. The CHIP population moved over to the MCOs on January 1st. Fayette County Health Department

Clinical Services include Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Testing, Immunizations for Children, TB Assessments, Blood Pressure Screening. Harm Reduction services are offered every Wednesday from 1pm-3pm.

FMRS

Primary Care – FMRS provides primary care services for adults who are also experiencing behavioral health issues. A certified nurse practitioner provides primary healthcare, including annual health screening, women’s health exams, sick visits and chronic disease management.
Health and Wellness – FMRS offers an innovative health and wellness program that brings together total health, exercise and nutrition. Group activities are available including walking, exercise, nutritional groups, gardening and health education. FMRS employs several Certified Smoking Cessation Specialists who are available to work with individuals toward eliminating tobacco use. This service can be provided in both individual and group sessions.

With locations in Fayetteville and Oak Hill, NRHA can service all your healthcare needs, including services surrounding Substance Use Disorder (SUD). A variety of school based health locations also provide students and youth with quality health services.

West Virginia Poison Center

The West Virginia Poison Center (WVPC) staff of nurses, pharmacists, and doctors offers assessment and emergency treatment recommendations on accidental exposures to medications and household substances, plant ingestion, snake, spider and other insect bites and stings, chemical spills, occupational exposures, and drug overdoses for the public and health care professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
